How can I take snippets of information and save them to one place like a notepad in Navatar?
Clips enable you to capture specific pieces of intelligence from various areas of Navatar and consolidate them into one location. To create a clip, click the “Clip” button located on the right side of the Quick Links bar at the bottom of Navatar. To add information to the clip, select and highlight any text from the main site and drag it into the notes section of the clip window.
Once you’ve compiled your intelligence, click the “Save” button to save the clip.
Can I share this with other people?
All Navatar users within your organization have access to all created clips. However, if you want to notify a specific user about a clip, you can tag them by clicking on the tag icon at the bottom of the clip window and searching for their name in the search bar. This will send them a notification when the clip is created or updated.
What if my intelligence isn’t in Navatar, can I add that to the notepad (clip)?
You can add your own text to the Clip note window in Navatar, in addition to dragging and dropping text. This is useful for adding personal commentary or intelligence not present in Navatar.
How can I tag records to the notepad? (clip)
When you save a clip, the system will scan the text of the clip and provide you with records that it was able to identify. It will ask you if you want to tag the records to the meeting, similar to the way it does when entering meeting notes. Additionally, any record in the system can be manually tagged by clicking the tag icon and searching for the record.
How are these notes accessible on the tagged records?
Clips can be accessed from the record page of any Company, Person or Deal they are tagged to. You can access them from the “Clips” column in the “Tagged” section of any tagged record page.
Are notifications sent out for clips?
Users who are tagged to a clip will receive notifications when the clip is created. They will also receive notifications if a clip is added to a Deal or Theme record they are part of the “Deal Team” or “Theme Team” of.

Can I export and/or email these? What is the format if I export?
To share a clip you’ve created, click into the theme and look for the “print” and “email” icons at the top of the clip window. From there, you can export or email the theme to share it. You can save the file as a PDF by selecting the “print” option, and then setting the printer to “PDF.”
If you select the email option, the name of the clip will be the subject of the email, and the notes from the clip will send as plain text in the body of the email.
Is the notepad (clip) saved to come back to later?
Intelligence added to the clip window in Navatar will remain there as you navigate around the site. If you log out of Navatar or close out of the browser, your progress in the clip will be saved for you to return to later. Once you have finished entering your information, save the clip by clicking the “save” button at the bottom of the Clip window.
How do I know where the intelligence came from in my note (clip)?
Navatar will identify any records mentioned in the text of the clip and suggest that you tag them. Otherwise, you should manually tag any relevant records where the text came from. This creates a list of sources for the clip. However, the system won’t mark the source for each individual line. If it’s important to reference, it’s best to make a note of the source within the text itself.
How can I easily update information in the note?
To edit or update a clip in, click on the clip name to open the clip window and then click the “edit” button in the top right corner. You can then make changes to the clip. Once the changes are saved, any users tagged to the clip will receive a notification alerting them of the updates.
Can I add images and other non-text data?
Clips are intended to compile text information from across the site and beyond. Thus, you can only enter text data into the clip window. Images or other non-text data will not be able to be entered or saved in a clip.
Can I access these notes on mobile?
You will be able to access any clips that have previously been created from the main Navatar site, though you will not be able to create new clips on the mobile app.
To access a clip, you can either search for the clip via the search icon in the top right corner of the screen, or navigate to Menu > All Items > Clips.
Can I create these notes (clips) on mobile?
Creating clips is currently only available on the main Navatar site. You will not be able to create clips from the Navatar Mobile app. However, you will be able to view and export clips that have already been created in the site.
Can other people update these notes?
All Navatar users within your organization are able to make changes to any clip in the system. However, other users that are tagged to the clip will not receive a notification that changes have been made to the clip.
If the note is edited, are edits tracked?
There is no record of changes made to clips. However, if you make any edits to a clip, the system will send a notification to any users tagged to the clip alerting them that changes gave been made.
