How can I create a deal when I receive a teaser in Outlook?
When you receive a teaser via email, you can easily create the deal in Navatar using the Outlook Connector. If the system detects the deal, it will suggest creating it in the “Suggested Record” section at the bottom of the Outlook Side Panel. Simply click “create” and follow the prompts to create the deal.
To create a new deal that is not suggested, click the “+” sign in the top right of the side panel and follow the prompts to create the record.
What if I don’t know the company the deal is related to?
As the name of the company is often unknown when receiving a teaser, it can be difficult to link the deal to a specific company in the system. To create a deal in this scenario, leave the “Company” field blank and the system will automatically create a company with the same name as the deal. Later, if you get the company details, you can easily edit the Company record to reflect the name.
How do I save the Teaser into Navatar along with the Deal?
Once you have saved the deal, you can save the teaser file into the system. To do this, click the arrow on the right side of the deal record card in the Navatar side panel. Then, click the “More Actions” button in the top right of the screen and select “Attach Files”. Follow the prompts to choose the files to save and click “Save”. These files will be available in the “Files” tab on the main deal record in Navatar.
Will Navatar automatically record the Deal source when it creates the deal?
When creating a new deal using the Outlook connector, you can attach the source firm and contact by filling out the “source” fields. If the source firm and contact do not exist in Navatar, you can create them directly from the deal record creation screen. Click into the source lookup field, and a dropdown will appear. Select “Create New Firm” at the bottom of the drop-down, and follow the prompts to create the record.
Once the system creates this record, it will drop it into the source field and you can continue to create the deal. You can follow the same process to create a new contact.
Can I create a Deal from a Teaser on Mobile?
From the Microsoft Outlook 365 mobile app, you have all of the same functionality that you would from the desktop Outlook application. Tap the three dots in the top right corner of any message, and then click “RevenueGrid” to load the side panel on mobile.
